Since the launch in March 2022, the Town Grown team have been busy meeting people, finding out need, providing skills and knowledge and encouraging all to grow more food

Meeting our community at the monthly St Leonard’s market stall. People filled out surveys as to what they wanted from a food growing network, and swapped plants and growing tips on the stall.

We have held workshops on medicinal plants, growing veg for beginners, choosing and caring for fruit trees, growing mushrooms, saving seeds and more!

By holding farm visits with local food producers, we have been learning from their professional experiences and gaining a new understanding and appreciation for smale scale, local food production.

In September, we launched the Our Town is an Orchard campaign, attended by the mayor and wassailing singers. Over this winter we want to fill this town with fruit trees!

There was more fruit talk and wassailing by the Town Grown team at the Bavard Bar in November, and the first trees were added to the map.
